CURRENT
It's plan do review kind of thing....
everything you see is an experiment, every step a step to something else, every direction a lead from somewhere to somewhere. Nothing is complete, but complete is not what it is about. Like humans this develops over time, sometimes it is frustratingly slow even torturous and possibly stuck, sometimes it is quick and I cannot keep up.
Highly indulgent in nature, it is time spent messing about, playing with and experimenting. These experiments are my own - not me trying to be something others see as experimental, something that defines the practice in and of itself.
Video informs a lot of my work as I am fascinated by the thinking, decision making and tacit knowing that crosses over from one area of my life to the other.
This is just a story....
PAPER FIRST
Printing
It is new to me - tetrapack, ink, etching, presses, scrim, newsprint, soaks, registration - gosh it is a technical field but once I will explore at leisure, learning through failure as usual.
More to come i suppose with gelli plates, lino and wood cuts! So much to do and not enough time...
the studio itself
ART MATERIALS HOAR
Not often I would use Hoar to describe myself - but when it comes to materials and my space GOD I love art materials, trying new things, collecting stuff that could be useful and playing with all kinds of things to see what happens. My first love remains paper but above you can see that printing is also a new venture, the studio is full - I think I like the challenge of fitting something else in!
